Aim of Group:
To help our Maltese Augustinian Missionaries in their social work, and to be in touch with the poor families and street children that live in the inadequate environment of the Favelas.

7 weeks – July / August 2009
Aim of this experience:
To help the poor children living in the Favelas by setting up educational programs, and to support youths with problems such as alcoholism, drug abuse and AIDS.
Requirements for volunteers, to participate in this missionary experience:
Each volunteer is expected to attend for portugese language lessons once a week throughout the year, to weekends of preparation, fundraising activities and spiritual growth meetings

AMTN - ANIMAZZJONI MISSJUNARJA TERESA NUZZO
Aim of Group:
AMTN is a group of lay persons, who work in collaboration with the congregation of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart. Their aim is to help the poor and needy people where the Daughters of the Sacred Heart serve such as India, Kenya and Tanzania. Volunteers are engaged in spiritual missionary animation, as well as in fundraising activities, whilst they are also invited to attend to a missionary experience once a year.

Period of this experience:
5 weeks - July / August 2009
Aim of this experience:
The aim of this trip is to experience poverty and help our African Sisters in their apostolate of social work by distributing food and by visiting the poor in their homes, to organise activities for children, and to help the local workers in the first phase of the construction of our new Teresa Nuzzo School in Dar Es Salam.
Requirements for volunteers, to participate in this missionary experience:
Volunteers will be expected to attend to weekly meeting in our Provincial House in Fleur De Lys, all fundraising events and a weekend of preparation, spiritual growth and team building in our Generalate House in Mellieha. Each individual will be responsible of all expenses during the trip.
